Class of 2010 Senior Model, Whitney
Shelby, a 2009 senior model, sent me Whitney. She is very much a social butterfly & we had such a great time in our interview just laughing & telling stories, that we almost ran out of time before we shot some pictures!
She is into golf, and just hanging with her friends. Look for more of her later this spring or early summer, when we get to do her full model card session.
Say hi to Brynne, 2010 Senior Model
So, I am pretty much done hiring 2010 Senior Models (for now anyway). The exception is when a current or former model recommends someone.
Jeanne sent me Brynne, and I am so thankful that she did. Brynne is a very sweet girl who is into gymnastics and cheerleading. …And as you can see, could easily be in a Covergirl ad or Vogue magazine!
This is Kari, 2010 Senior Model
Kari has been my friend on Myspace for a while now, but I didn’t actually meet her until her recent model interview. As I was winding down my Class of 2010 Senior Model Search, I sent out a message to a small group of girls on Facebook and Myspace who I really wanted working for me… but I hadn’t heard from them yet about it.
Her mom actually called me from Florida! They were on spring break, but they didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity. I told them, “It’s cool. Just enjoy your vacation and give me a call when you are back in town.” About a week later, I interviewed her and we did a very brief test shoot. Here is one of my favorites from that test session. Look for more of her later this spring and summer.
Jeanne, 2010 Senior Portrait Model
Jeanne was one of the first 2010 Seniors I interviewed for a modeling position. She and her father, Dean, said they were interested (and I was definitely interested in working with her) but they couldn’t commit at that time.
Several weeks went by and I had pretty much given up on her. Then, unexpectedly, I got a friend request from her on Myspace. When I went to her profile, it said she was a Senior Model for Mike Turner Photography! Woooo Hoooo! I called her up (or maybe I wrote to her) and she said “yeah, she was definitely IN!”
I told her about the Lake Michigan Beach trip we are doing with the models in June. http://www.miketurnerphotography.com/blog/?p=55 I hadn’t decided to do that yet at the time of her interview. Turns out, it is scheduled on her birthday. Between that, and her softball schedule, we are not yet sure if she can make it… but I sure hope she does.
Meet Jasmine, 2010 Senior Photography Model
So… out of nowhere I get this e-mail from a junior guidance counselor. She says I need to meet this wonderful girl named Jasmine. She goes on to tell me she is “beautiful, athletic looking and smart too!” That is straight from the e-mail.
Well… I took her up on it and found out Jasmine is all of the above and more.
Class of 2010 Senior Models, mark your calenders!
On Saturday, June 6th, I am doing a FREE Lake Michigan beach shoot for all of my models! This is normally a $300 shoot! Now because there are so many of you (17 and counting), I can not fit you all in my car… so here’s the plan.
We will be meeting at my place and all following each other up there. I will have maps available, so if someone gets separated from the group it’s no problem.
You must bring a parent to attend. And you can bring one friend. I will shoot him/her for free also, but for them to receive any images they must do their senior pictures with me. That’s fair, right?
I don’t have the meet-up time nailed down just yet, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up about this. My thinking is… we will meet kinda early (like maybe 4:00) so we have plenty of time to get there, have something to eat, and go over some posing ideas before the sun gets to that “sweet spot” just above the water… then it will be very fast paced before the sun sets. That is why I want to go over some poses before hand.
I am very excited about this shoot, and I hope many of you can make it. The rain date will be the following Saturday, June 13th.
When we get closer to the date, I will be asking for rsvp’s so I know who to expect, but for now I just wanted to let you all know.
