What a crazy year!!!
This year was a real turning point for my photography business. I more than doubled the number of seniors that I photographed from last year, and the feedback I am getting makes me believe I will likely have an even better 2010!

Class of 2010 Senior Model, Whitney
Shelby, a 2009 senior model, sent me Whitney. She is very much a social butterfly & we had such a great time in our interview just laughing & telling stories, that we almost ran out of time before we shot some pictures! 
She is into golf, and just hanging with her friends. Look for more of her later this spring or early summer, when we get to do her full model card session.

Jeanne, 2010 Senior Portrait Model
Jeanne was one of the first 2010 Seniors I interviewed for a modeling position. She and her father, Dean, said they were interested (and I was definitely interested in working with her) but they couldn’t commit at that time.
Several weeks went by and I had pretty much given up on her. Then, unexpectedly, I got a friend request from her on Myspace. When I went to her profile, it said she was a Senior Model for Mike Turner Photography! Woooo Hoooo! I called her up (or maybe I wrote to her) and she said “yeah, she was definitely IN!”
I told her about the Lake Michigan Beach trip we are doing with the models in June. http://www.miketurnerphotography.com/blog/?p=55 I hadn’t decided to do that yet at the time of her interview. Turns out, it is scheduled on her birthday. Between that, and her softball schedule, we are not yet sure if she can make it… but I sure hope she does.

Better be nice to Kellie…
…’cause this 2010 Senior Portrait Model is wanting to pursue a career in the FBI. That is amazing! I told her “everything I know about the FBI, I learned from watching Silence Of The Lambs” haha. I thought maybe that movie would be too old for her to get the reference, but it was a favorite of hers too.
She is also a lifelong basketball player, so of course we will show that side of her in her senior pictures as well. I can’t wait!
Kellie, 2010 Senior Portrait Model
Class of 2010 Senior Model, Alexa.
Alexa had modeling offers from several Indianapolis area senior photographers. I’m sure you can see why! :) I interviewed her a couple of weeks ago, and she was very interested, but wanted to see what the other studios could offer her. I told her and her mom that was fine. I don’t want anyone to make a quick decision and regret it later, I want them to be genuinely excited about the opportunity.
I’m not sure if it was my benefits, or my photography that swayed her, but after some time to look at the other studios… they decided that I was the best choice for them!
Alexa is an athlete through and through! She is a runner and a swimmer. We are going to incorporate both of those interests into her senior pictures, but I am most excited about her swimming images that I have planned. When we are done, Michael Phelps will envy her swim pics… and I am not talking about the one that got him in trouble!

Andrea, the artist!
This is Andrea, my new Class of 2010 Senior Model. She saw some pics I did of her friends Melani and Michelle, and really liked the images I did of them. So, she called me up and set up an interview and test shoot. Obviously, I liked her style. I mean, what’s not to like? She is naturally beautiful!
Andrea is an artist. She showed me a piece she is working on and I was blown away! She had a snapshot of a drawing on her cell phone, and I thought is was a sculpture at first. The “depth” of the image was that good! She is obviously someone with great talent and discipline.
We talked about a few ideas for her senior pictures… something that will show her artistic side. What we came up with will seriously challenge my photoshop skills, but I am up for the challenge, and very excited about it.
